1 CDJustin Rutledge could easily rest on his reputation. Eleven albums in, he’s accumulated a daunting body of work upon which one could easily coast. Instead, on "Something Easy", Justin Rutledge did the opposite. He made things exceedingly difficult for himself and decided to write, record and produce the album by himself at home. With one, then later two, bouncing baby boys underfoot, to boot.
The results speak for themselves. "Something Easy" is a serene, stately thing of beauty, a gently paced record that really rewards the patient listener with meticulous detail and unexpected instrumental happenings. It’s anything but Rutledge settling into a rut. It will surprise you.
That Rutledge can still catch us off guard should not come as a surprise. The man is very good at what he does. Accolades have piled up since he released his first album, "No Never Alone", via Six Shooter Records and Slowdive/Mojave 3 main man Neil Halstead’s Shady Lane Records in 2004. He’s won a Juno Award for Roots Album of the Year in 2014 for the album "Valleyheart" – which also landed him a Canadian Folk Music Award – and has since been nominated for three more Junos. He’s been longlisted twice for the critic-voted Polaris Music Prize.
“All of these songs are about youth, and I hadn’t realized that,” he says. “And it’s interesting because I feel that, as a new dad, there’s this transition that’s happening where suddenly I’m realizing I’m in my 40s. And what’s happening is that our wild-and-free years are suddenly over there, and our ‘middle-aged’ years are now right here. I feel like I’m at this apex where I’m thinking a lot about my youth, But I’m not lamenting anything. I’m not old, I’m just shocked at how suddenly this new phase of life has begun.”

100-count large oval paper plates (12"x10") - soak-proof, microwave safe, cut-resistant, disposable
Size: 12 in-100 count, Size: 12 in-100 count
These 12" X 10" disposable paper plates (brand: OuMuaMua) are great to add to our inventory of party tableware supplies. We have stocked up smaller plates but just not these larger ones. The size is perfect to make up for what we have not purchased but need. They are fantastic for being soak-proof and microwave-safe.
I used one today to marinate some pork chops for 2+ hours just to see how well it performed for soak-proofness. The saucy marinade was well contained and didn't soak through the plate. The coating is waterproof as well because after marinating, I used the same plate to hold some tap water. Not a drip came or seeped through.
Though I would consider it quite stiff, it is still made of paper and won't compare well with those disposable hard plastic plates. As such, I will limit my use of these for lightweight items such as donuts, break, muffins, cupcakes, a few pork chops or steaks, etc. For heavier and bountiful party goodies, like a big bunch of BBQ wings, hot dogs, etc., I will back it up with a tray when carrying it to the table. Once properly seated down, this oval paper plate can be trusted to serve on its own.
A size comparison is included showing the oval plate and a smaller one from a known brand I bought for everyday use. They are similar not just in their color schemes , the quality is also very similar, e.g. the level of stiffness, being soak-proof and cut-resistant. I am very pleased with this product's quality and functionality. They are absolutely convenient when we host parties or when we prefer not to deal with dishes clean-up.
These are definitely valuable time-savers for the price.

Poor quality and unusable finish
Size: 12 in-100 count
Very poor plates, fiber coming off the edges. You have to wipe them before you use each one. Never seen that with paper plates ever!!

Great oversized plate for the biggest of meals
Size: 12 in-100 count
High quality, soak proof, large plate. Perfect when we are doing a big spread. I have used these for 3 different dinners. Held up to everything! Would highly recommend if you are looking for a platter size plate that looks nice and is safe to use in the microwave.

Sturdy & worth it
These plates are super sturdy and reliable! I’ve used them for parties and everyday meals, and they hold up really well—even with heavier or messy food.
They don’t get soggy or bend easily, which is a huge plus. Makes cleanup so much easier without worrying about spills.
Definitely a go-to for gatherings or busy days!
